Curriculum vitae

Prof.dr. Robert A. Roe is emeritus hoogleraar organisatietheorie en organisatiegedrag aan de Universiteit Maastricht en visiting professor aan de Universiteit van Trento (Italië) en de Universiteit van British Columbia (Canada) en de Hij is voorzitter van de Europese Federatie van Psychologen Verenigingen (EFPA) te Brussel en is tevens werkzaam als adviseur op het gebied van personeel en organisatie.

 

Robert Roe studeerde psychologie aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam (1962-1969), waar hij ook zijn doctorsgraad behaalde (1975). Na onderzoeker te zijn geweest als aan het Amsterdamse Instituut voor Sociale en Bedrijfspsychologie en wetenschappelijk (hoofd)medewerker aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam, werd hij in 1980 benoemd tot hoogleraar in de Arbeids- en Organisatiepsychologie aan de Technische Universiteit Delft. Daarna werkte hij als hoogleraar A&O-psychologie aan de Universiteit van Tilburg (KUB, 1988-1999) en als part-time hoogleraar Organisatiepsychologie aan de Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen (KUN, 2002). Vervolgens was hij hoogleraar organisatietheorie en organisatiegedrag aan de Universiteit Maastricht (2002-2009). In de periode 1999-2001 was hij directeur van het Aeromedisch Instituut te Soesterberg.

 

Robert Roe heeft zich bezig gehouden met diverse onderwerpen op het terrein van personeel en organisatie, waaronder, personeelsselectie en -beoordeling, loopbaanontwikkeling, ICT in organisaties, arbeidsprestaties, organisatieverandering,  organisatiecultuur, economische transformatieprocessen en met organisatiediagnose. In zijn tegenwoordige werk valt de nadruk op management en organisatiegedrag binnen het perspectief van de tijd, met een nadruk op motivatie, competentie en prestatie.

 

Robert Roe heeft onderwijs gegeven op het gebied van organisatietheorie, organisatiegedrag, en onderzoeksmethodologie aan studenten op graduate, MBA en PhD niveau. Hij doceert nu International HRM aan UBC in Vancouver, Organisatiepsychologie aan de Universiteit van Treno in Rovereto, en Theorie en Toepassing van Ontwerpen in de European Master W&O Psychology van het Erasmus Mundus programma.

 

Robert Roe heeft verscheidene functies vervuld op het gebied van arbeid en organisatie. Hij was o.a. oprichter en voorzitter van de European Association of Work & Organizational Psychology (EAWOP; 1991-1995) en Directeur van het Work & Organization Research Center in Tilburg (WORC; 1991-1997). Hij heeft veel internationale ervaring, met name in Europa. Hij heeft tientallen wetenschappelijke conferenties, symposia en workshops georganiseerd en deelgenomen aan verscheidene internationale onderzoeksprojecten. 

 

Robert Roe heeft meer dan 400 wetenschappelijke en vakpublicaties het licht doen zien, waaronder verscheidene boeken. Bekende titels zijn: 'Grondslagen der personeelsselectie', 'Psychologie der Arbeidsomstandigheden', 'Personeelsbeoordeling: Achtergronden en toepassingen',  'Telematics and work' en 'Time in Organizational Research'. Hij is lid geweest van de redactieraad van verscheidene wetenschappelijke tijdschriften, waaronder het Journal of Organizational Behavior (USA) en het European Journal of W&O Psychology (Europa).
