Ronald Peeters was born on June 29th 1974 in Beers, a small village in the province Noord-Brabant in the south of the Netherlands. After finishing primary school in Beers (1978-1986), secondary school in Cuijk (1986-1991) and one year higher vocational education in Nijmegen (1991-1992), he studied mathematics at the Mathematical Institute of the Radboud University in Nijmegen (1992-1997), where he graduated in August 1997, having done a major in Applied Mathematics with special focus on game theory, numerical mathematics and graph theory. He continued for a PhD in computation and selection of equilibria in noncooprative games, starting his research in December 1997 at University of Tilburg (1997-1999) and Eindhoven University of Technology (1997-2001) and finishing with a graduation at Maastricht University (1999-2002) in June 2002. After graduation he managed to recieve first a Veni-grant (2003-2007) and later a Vidi-grant (2008-) from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research; grants that allowed him to continue his research at Maastricht University. Currently he is an associate professor at the Department of Economics at Maastricht University.
