EBC1009 Economics and Business  (2011-12)

  • For first-year students
For more information about this course, please see the course site provided on the university's Blackboard system at eleum.unimaas.nl and read the course manual.

  • For repeat students
All partial exam results of last year remain valid, i.e. final exam, participation requirement, and both elements of academic writing skills (participation and main paper). You do not have to redo whichever of these items you passed last year. Notice that only your overall participation result remains intact, the individual components are not carried over, implying that if you have either failed the eleUM quizzes or the 75% attendance requirement, you have to redo both elements in this year. The same principle applies to the main paper: you have to pass it both on content and on language; partial success in one of these components is not carried over. Of course, you can do the eleUM quizzes voluntarily again to benefit from the feedback and to prepare for the exam in case you register but have already passed participation in content.

    • If you passed everything except for the main paper, please register with the Language Center by email to AW-EBC1009-SBEMaastrichtUniversity.nl before 02 November 2011. Notice that you will receive no registration confirmation to your email. If you register in time you will be given access to the current year's eleUM site of the course. To find out if you are properly registered for the main paper please see the list of repeat students registered for the main paper that is published at the eleUM site of the current course (section 'Academic Writing') after the registration deadline. The paper assignment is available there, too.

    • If you passed everything except for the final exam, you do not have to register for the entire course again, it is sufficient to register for the final exam in time as usual.

    • In all cases where you did not pass participation (because you failed either in E+B content groups or eleUM quizzes or language groups) you have to register for the course in time. Upon registration you can access the course site at eleum.unimaas.nl
