One of my interests is planning
and organizational problems in the field of production management
and business logistics. This comprehends quantitative techniques and
organizational measures for resolving co-ordination problems between
different planning levels and between different functional
departments. Another field of interest is, teaching methods, teaching material and the learning behavior of students. At the moment this is my focus of research, that is embodied in the start of a PhD. thesis on learning styles of students in different learning environments. |

Empirical
research
into internal organization matters; (social) psychology in
particular individual differences, group dynamics, learning,
selective turnover processes, organizational adaptation to change.
Students having access to field data on many individuals in
professional organizations (for instance through business contacts)
are particularly welcome. |

I prefer empirical, challenging, down-to-earth topics in the following areas: 1. European Business (incl. EU regulation issues). 2. Culture, institutions and business systems - dynamics and change. 3. Industry or company studies, especially when looking at the interrelation between strategy, capabilities and coordination of activities among firms. 4. International Business in Central and Eastern Europe. (Study on the spot needs be founded on thorough literature research in UM Library and interaction with your supervisor before you leave) |
