Topics for Master Thesis

In general any proposal for a master thesis in the field of microeconomics is welcome. In particular I am interested in Master Theses in the area of Industrial Economics on Infrastructure Networks (e.g., electricity markets, gas, telecom etc.). Potential topics are:

  • Optimal Market Design (comparison of different auction rules for transmission rights and licenses, importance and design of secondary markets ... )
  • Measures for Market Power on Infrastructure Networks
  • Incentive Schemes for Network Maintenance and  Development
  • Optimal Location of Power Plants

In addition, I offer topics related to the design of allocation mechanisms for indivisible commodities (e.g., kidney exchange, school choice etc. )
