My work happens to be useful for my hobby, which is to fish (used figuratively, not to be confusing with fishing...). All you need in case you can't find any fish to fish, is to find a model that correctly examines patterns in water and points you in the direction of the fish. More seriously, I am currently at the Dept. of Knowledge Engineering Maastricht University, which deals with, among others, Data Mining and Machine Learning. To go a bit deeper into details, my areas of research interest encompass Kernel Methods for Regression and Classification tasks, Clustering, Statistical Methods, Visualization, Attribute Selection, and tak dalie.
