Goal
Lie detection by means of the polygraph has recently attracted increased attention in Western Europe. There are, however, large differences in application and legislation. For example, while the Control Question Technique is widely used in criminal cases in Belgium, it is banned from penal procedures in Germany. During the European Expert Meeting on Polygraph Testing, we would like to discuss the different applications among experts in an open atmosphere. Hopefully, this will result in some kind of consensus and adequate application of the polygraph in Europe.
