Children:  Maria (born August 3rd, 2003) and Lucas (born April 12th, 2008).

Hobbies: Playing the bugle (member of Fanfare St. Cecilia Ubachsberg), drawing comics, ancient history.

Favorite music: The Beatles

Favorite movies: Once upon a time in America, The Godfather (especially parts 1 and 2).

bulletFrom 1982 until 1988 I visited the Sintermeerten College (High School) in Heerlen.
bulletFrom 1988 until 1993 I studied Mathematics at the Technical University in Aachen (Germany). My second subject was Physics.
bulletIn 1993 I started my PhD at Maastricht University. Under the supervision of Hans Peters and Mathijs Jansen I completed my PhD thesis titled "Information Structures in Noncooperative Games" in 1997.

bulletFrom 1997 until 1998 I worked as a Visiting Professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Departament d'Economia i d'Història Econòmica.
bulletFrom 1998 until 2000 I worked as a Visiting Professor at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Departamento de Economía.
bulletFrom 2000 until 2002 I worked as an Associate Professor at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Departamento de Economia.
