SCOPOLAMINE REVIEW

In 2001 I have written an extensive review on the effects of scopolamine in various aspects of behaviour. My aim was to show that scopolamine has a very general effect on behavioural functions and that one should be cautious to interpret the effects of scopolamine in terms of learning and memory. After many years we managed to publish this review and is now published:

Klinkenberg, I. & Blokland, A. (2011). The validity of scopolamine as a pharmacological model for cognitive impairment: A review of animal behavioral studies. Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews, 34, 1307-1350.

We have now submitted a paper in which we show that Muscarinic type 1 receptors are more selectively involved in memory functions.
